Jeff G. Stephens is a photographer born and raised outside of Alexandria, Louisiana. He got his first camera at around ten years of age and learned to take basic photos using a variety of the small 110 and automatic 35mm film cameras of the 1980s and early 1990s. One of his main dreams and interests from an early age was to learn film and video production, but cameras and editing equipment weren’t available to the average rural Louisiana kid in those days, long before relatively affordable and accessible digital video had hit the scene.

There will be a Special Opening Night Gala on August 15th after the performance, featuring free food and champagne! There will also be a guest signer Sunday, August 24th for the hearing impaired. She has also been crossing the miles to Iberia Perish by plane, car and train for many years to visit with her family and the roots that have held them here for more than a century. Sunday night marks Aimée’s first show in the area and she’ll be joined on stage by local beloved fiddler David Greely (www.davidgreely.com). To commemorate this important historical anniversary, novelist Dennis Ward and documentary filmmaker Bonnie Friedman will be touring together for the next year presenting their related artworks. Their next presentation will be on Saturday, July 12, 2014 at Cité des Arts Theater, 109 Vine St. downtown Lafayette, Louisiana at 3pm.
