Synopsis for Destination to be Determined

Life has never been easy for Emmy London. Raised in foster homes, she learned to never get too comfortable, to never let anyone in. When her classmate, Chloe Oliver, disappeared at the tender age of five, so did she. From that moment on, life was never the same. She kept a secret and kept her distance from everyone.

With the twentieth anniversary of Chloe's disappearance looming, Mr. Oliver sought Emmy's assistance, asking her to revisit the past in order to give him the closure he so desperately needed. As a private investigator, she was accustomed to facing unpleasant situations and sifting through others' lives. Unfortunately, this time to do that, she had to face her own.

Soon, she herself is being followed. A handsome stranger insinuates himself in her life. Everything she believed and thought she knew is called into question beginning with…can she turn her curse into a gift?

Her mission is clear, her destination is to be determined.

Destination Derailed Synopsis

When Emmy finally answers a series of missed calls, the first words Sean speaks are, “Peaches is missing!”

Rushing back to Shiloh Cove, her new mission is a favor fora friend that lands her in a strip club, working undercover.  Blaze really appreciates her new work uniform…and he’s not the only one.

Like so many others on the force, Detective Morrow moonlights in a security position after-hours at Leather and Lace.  He’s seen many girls come and go through the years without giving it another thought, until Emmy enters his life once more, this time wearing makeup and not much else.  Then, he can’t stop thinking about her.

In the midst of an alpha pissing contest between two men who make her quiver, Emmy finds herself embroiled in a dark and dangerous underground.  Everything she believed to be true is put to the test.  It has been said rules are meant to be broken, that life is all fun and games.  Yet in her case, never has so much been at stake when Emmy finds her destination derailed.

Chokecherry by Sheri Meshal Review & Giveaway

Stay up to date with everything on Book Worm & More by Subscribing to our Email.

Forty-one year old Dana Quinn, a closet writer, career waitress and three-time psych ward patient has just lost her last family member. For Dana to go on, she must create a life meaningful enough to answer her eternal question: why did she alone survive the accident that killed her family? That's a tall order for someone who's barely managed to exist. Never married, in and out of an institution where only her writing saved her, Dana works a dismal job with a few friends she's managed to keep at a safe distance.

Lost and hopeless in the weeks following Aunt Irma's unexpected death, Dana discovers a letter and takes her aunt's advice to walk away from her life in Queens and return to her family farm to write herself well one more time. For over thirty years Dana's believed the farm was sold and did her best to forget it. But what if everything in the house is frozen in time exactly the way they left it? Nothing can stop her from walking through that door.

On the road she adopts a one-eared dog and finds a new best friend in Iowan-turned-New Yorker, Stu, who's given up designing off-Broadway sets to care for his ailing mother back in his tiny hometown.

Chokecherry, her father's beloved farm, is not at all what Dana expects and far more than she bargains for. By firelight, Malcolm reveals the cryptic history buried in the tunnel, and why the big barn strikes fear in the hearts of those who enter it. Despite its tragic past, the farm also possesses an undeniable capacity to heal the broken. In fact, it seems to be a magnet for broken hearts. Just as Dana and her friends form a tight bond and rise to the challenge of helping Chokecherry realize its true potential, a supernatural ability she's failed to repress for years, nearly kills her. Dana's forced to fight for a life she wants--a life that finally answers her eternal question in ways she never could've imagined.

If you are looking for a book that you can lose yourself in, then this book is for you.  Once I started reading Chokecherry, I could not put the book down.  Dana was so real.   I can't imagine the survivor's guilt she must feel after losing her whole family.  Yes, she has spent time in psych wards but who wouldn't if they were in her shoes.

I'm not even sure what drew me into the book so much.  However, the characters are so dynamic and real.  While Dana is said to be 41, she comes across as much younger to me.  I'm not sure why Sheri Meshal decided to put her at this age, but it is refreshing to have a romance with an older character.  This book has a little bit of everything, a little bit of the supernatural, romance, drama, and comedic interludes.

I give this book 5 stars.  It would be the perfect book to take to the beach.  Just make sure you have plenty of time to read because you may end up like me and reading until 4 in the morning.  The book will have you laughing and crying.  Well, maybe not crying but you will feel very empathatic and just might end up teary eyed.  This is a book for all ages but there are a few adult situations and the younger crowd might not appreciate reading about an older generation.

About the Author

Sheri Meshal spent most of her childhood on an old farm in Iowa. She is an author by day and chauffeur by night... for a tad bit longer. She inherited her lifelong love of books from her father, who sensed she was a writer long before she did, and changed the course of her life by telling her so.  Her debut novel, Swallowtail, took over six years to write and was inspired by bizarre events which occurred shortly after her father's passing in 1998. Best friends, they'd engaged in countless conversations regarding the possibility of life after death.

A minimalist, Sheri currently lives in Chicago sans furniture with her dog, Kylee and her roommate and fellow writer, Mack Oliver. When she isn't writing, she's traveling and spending time with her nieces and nephews every chance she gets.

Sheri's Debut Book - Swallowtail
Chicago wife, mother and finance executive Claire Cummings, arrives at work one morning to discover her friend Julia has embezzled millions and vanished. Blindsided and devastated by the betrayal, she’s sent home pending further investigation. Claire’s bizarre death the following day sends everyone reeling, guessing and looking for her in all the wrong places. In no time she's addicted to an enchanting menagerie of tricks and techniques for getting the living's attention, but most people are harder to reach than she'd ever dreamed and even harder to set free.

She was still a mother, a wife, a daughter and a friend... she'd move heaven and earth to keep it that way.

SheriMeshal’s Swallowtail is a haunting story about life, love, loss and just how far we’ll go to control it all.

This debut from a thought-provoking new voice in fiction begs the question… what would you do if all the rules changed, and you were suddenly bestowed powers beyond your greatest imagination?

The Well of Wyrding Review & Giveaway

Stay up to date with everything on Book Worm & More by Subscribing to our Email.

The The Well of Wyrding  (The Revenant Wyrd Saga #3)

"Experience the long anticipated sequel to The Mirror of the Moon.

In the fantastical lands of the Great Realms, Angelica, Jovian, and Joya are on the search for their older sister Amber, who has been kidnapped by the villain, Porillon. But Amber has slipped away from all of them, and where she has gone is as big a mystery as why she was taken. While they are searching for their sister, Porillon strikes a staggering blow to the entire land.

The Well of Wyrding, a mythic well which contains the magic and fate of every creature in the Great Realms, has been poisoned creating havoc as the magic power of wyrd becomes toxic.

While Grace, Rosalee, and Dalah seek a way to purify the Well of Wyrding, wyrd is going haywire, buildings fashioned with wyrd are turning to pinnacles of terror; wyrd is working against its casters; and people are taking up arms against the threat sorcerers and their kind pose.

But the toxic wyrd is causing a new problem to arise. They are called caustics: those wyrders who have been completely taken over by their chaotic wyrd. Husks of what they once were, they are now a vessel for Chaos in the realms."

Here we go again with another wonderful book from Travis Simmons.  I have to admit that I am hooked on this series, and can't wait for the next book.  This book will have you guessing at every turn, and at times, wanting to check under the bed for a dalua (bad person/monster).  This isn't one of those predictable books,

Travis Simmons does a great job of building this make believe world and the characters in the book.  I can picture it all in my mind, a must for any good book.  He makes me want to be a wyrder or sorceress, kind of like Harry Potter had me wanting to be a wizard.

There are so many great things about this book but you really need to read all of the books to understand what is going on.  I found myself having to go back a couple of times to recall what had happened before to understand what was happening or what a character was referring to.

I find that this book is appropriate for high school students and older.  However, as with any book, I do recommend that parents read the book first.  There are a few adult situations that they may not approve of.  I give this book 4 stars.  I probably would've given it 5 stars but there are a few times when I found it confusing.  I am anxiously waiting for the next book.

Buy the Book from.....

About the Author
Travis has been writing since he was 14.  He began writing a book called "The Calling of the Two" and while writing that on and off he started uncovering another idea.
"Yes, this is all well and good, but what about before? What happened in the world before these characters came into it?" He always knew there was a "before" and as he started wondering about it he got ideas. At first they were little ideas but as he discovered the names for his characters a whole story about them emerged.

Travis started working on The Revenant Wyrd Saga several years back and he is very happy he did because hearing and documenting Jovian and Angelica's story has been one wild ride for him.  He has also written the Infernal Design series.

He lives in a small town at the base of the Adirondack Mountains and hoofing around my neck of the woods gives him a ton of inspiration for his novels.   He loves research, and speculating on different ideas and theories.
